Potentials for Partnership

Peacemaking in Practice

We hope to support existing organisations in communities affected by conflict by integrating peacemaking principles into their ongoing development or humanitarian work. Through training and mentorship, we help strengthen their ability to transform division and violence into reconciliation and sustainable peace.

Strengthening for Peace

By partnering with established organisations, we have the possibility to provide additional resources, if needed,—such as funding, staff, and equipment—to enhance their capacity for practical peacemaking. Together, we expand their impact, ensuring they have the support needed to foster peace within their community.

Planting Peace Initiatives

In areas without existing partners, we can establish new, community-led projects designed for long-term transformation. We build teams from within the community, equipping and training local people to lead sustainable peacemaking efforts that address the root causes of violence and division.

The Rt Revd Dr Rosemarie Mallett, Bishop of Croydon

“When CHIPS first approached me to consider working in partnership with them in our local community, I was initially hesitant. I had not heard of their work, and I was not sure what another mission agency (with an overseas programme) could bring to the local community. I was worried about any attempt to parachute a particular perspective and a lack of cultural understanding or competence. I was afraid they would try to transfer what they felt worked in one place to our local situation. After long conversations and much prayer, we began with a very slow start to ensure a deepening of relationships. Through this process, I realised that CHIPS’ work is intentionally centred on joining in and journeying alongside communities so as to be a blessing through their engagement. They have a a desire to see God's kingdom and his people grow and develop and so they purposely engage and build up local people, of all ages, to be the ones who, under God, make change happen.”

  • Whilst I was on the streets with a BBC reporter, the reporter asked a young man, ‘Why do we need these people on the streets?’ His reply was, ‘We have so many bad people on our streets, we need more good people here and in our communities!’ CHIPS as an organisation has demonstrated their ability to be on the streets and in the communities helping to bring peace.

Blessed are the peacemakers. For they shall be called the sons of God.

We are open to invitations from communities who are experiencing conflict. If you think the activities of CHIPS would benefit your community, please contact us. You don’t have to be running anything yet, but the first step to peace is a conversation, so get in touch to tell us about your community and we’ll work with you to see if we might be able to help.
